Creeks and lakes of Alpine Country

During our stay in Bavaria and Tyrol we visited lots of small and huge mountain lakes, rivers and creeks. If you like waters as much as I do you´ll be exhausted when you see the colours and clarity of the lakes and creeks in the Alps. In Germany (North Rhine-Westfalia), there is nothing comparable.

The huge lakes of Baravia are usually frozen this time of the year, but we were lucky. There was already some snow but the water was not frozen, so we were able to create some pictures with these beautiful colours and reflections. Nearly every picture would not have been possible a few days later because of the huge snowfalls in January. The most roads were even closed one day later.

I was really impressed by the deep blue creeks of Austria (Tyrol) and the ice that has covered all the banks of river „Isar“. We also had some great mornings. We took a wonderful hike at Eibsee with fresh snow and there wasn`t a soul in sight. Even at the „hotspot“ Geroldsee we were alone for about three hours on New Years Day.

I wish you lots of fun with this second picture series of the Alpine Country.
