Photography Competitions

In the second half of 2018, I was focused on creating an Instagram account. If you want to keep in touch with me regularly I am happy to welcome you in my community.

Due to the Instagram effort, I ignored entering new photo competitions for a while. I want to change that in 2019 and so, I decided to participate at least the

top-6-competitions in nature photography.

After entering three 2019-competitions I had already luck and got the first success.

But let`s start with a contest where I wasn`t able to win: the „BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year“. I participated the second time. Although, I had six pictures which were selected by the Jury to submit the raw files, I missed winning with one of these pictures. But I will not give up and stay tuned the next years 😉

Finally, there was an email in my Inbox in February. One of my pictures was awarded at the international “Nature Photography Competition Asferico“ as „highly commended“ in the landscape category. In reference to 18.000 submitted pictures I am very lucky about this result!

I am even more happy than with every other result because this picture is my favorite one of my photographic portfolio. When I took the shot in January 2017, I was

already impressed by the conditions and the mood of this location.

The night before, it was raining while there were very cold temperatures. So, the next morning all trees were covered with ice and it created this silver-coloured-touch. The unusual tree on the right side of the scene was kind of „alive“ and this was simply stunning. It took a while until I recognized this perspective and

created this composition:

Ich hope to achieve at least one more success in 2019 and I will keep you up to date!

Wish you all the best,

Thomas
