At the end of winter: in the land of forest birds

In the last two weeks winter came back quite unexpectedly.

After 7 months of almost exclusively photographing landscapes, plants and abstracts, I was really looking forward to the new season with wildlife photography.

This usually starts in April, but this time I was able to spend the last hours of winter with wildlife photography in March - I had the opportunity to observe many bird species from a small observation hut in the beautiful “Sauerland” at close range - At this point I`d like to thank Wilhelm Waltermann

I had seen many pictures of most of the species over the years, but never got to see them up close. Within the first half hour I saw 10 different bird species at the edge of the forest. My personal highlights were the bullfinches as well as the hawfinches and yellowhammers.

I needed a little time to get some good shots, since these birds were mostly very fast. But in the end I am very satisfied with my first series of these protagonists.

I hope you like the series and now I wish a beautiful spring - stay healthy 😀🖐

Many greetings,
Thomas
