Birding Majorca (Part 2) - The proud mallorquin bird world

In the second part of my birding series of the Balearic island I will show you a colourful mix of typical bird species that you often see on the island. You don't always manage to photograph them, but this year it went really well.

Half of the pictures were taken from the car again. In many places on the island the birds are used to regularly passing cars, but not to people passing by. As soon as you open the door, they are gone.

In addition, I had the opportunity to visit observation huts for birds of prey with a Mallorcan nature lover, Gil. Watching free-living kites up close was a great experience. Once I was even able to see and photograph a booted eagle there with a little luck. I will certainly visit him again.

My personal highlight was the shot of a "simple" red partridge. They are also quite common on the island. How often I had already tried to photograph them - but mostly they run away pretty fast as soon as you come to a stop. This time it finally worked out. And then still on beautiful and typical Mallorcan natural stones. I had a time window of maybe 10 seconds and that was enough, which I was very happy about.

I wish you much fun with the second part of my series 🖐
