The world of small and large plovers

After I came back from a great trip to Iceland yesterday evening, which I will tell you about shortly, I am quickly publishing this blog entry, which I had already worked out two weeks ago:

In May, I was able to observe different plovers breeding in a few places in the Netherlands. These beautiful animals like to breed on old or hardly used gravel surfaces and car parks, as their nest is very well camouflaged there.

A special highlight was the young offspring of sand plovers on Texel, which I was once able to photograph in the most beautiful light. These fuzzy and fluffy little „balls“ are really cute.

However, as you only crawl around on the ground for such pictures, it took a few days until the bruises and the sore muscles were gone again - so the pictures had their price 😅

There's not enough time for more stories today, as I have to continue unpacking my suitcases and catch up on sleep 😉

Have a good start to the week and best regards,
Thomas
